school life is a very important phase in an individual life. One's character, knowledge, individuality and personality are moulded and characterized in this period of life. One's parents can guide and mould the individual up to a certain extant but who is responsible for his guidance and development flin a major context ? It is teaching under whom an individual flourishes and learns, for during the period of he spend most of his time in educational institutions. But it is a sad fact that the teaching community today is indulging in degrading moral and basic value of education. This has resulted in drastic lack of confidence and understanding between them and students.
In the Past in India the system of imparting education was traditional "Guru Shishya" one. The "Aashrams" were often situated in jungles or natural surroundings and were in themselves a full-fledged household. The students under the guidance of their Guru had to look after every aspect of maintaining the fromfr fulfilling the daily chores to studying and learning the lesson to the satisfaction of the Guru, Thus along with literature, reading and writing, the students imbibed moral, social and vocational education too. The relationship between them and their Guru was that of sincere respect and devotion. This helped them to develop into well balanced individuals.
