Necessity is the mother of Invention

Necessity compels a man to find out ways and means to fulfill the demands of life. This gives rise to the invention of new things and new ideas. Necessity means dire need. As long as we do not need a thing, we don't bother about it. when the need becomes urgent, we are forced  to find a way of fulfilling it. For instance, in the beginning of civilisation man was afraid of wild animals. He invented fire to frighten them. Similarly the taming of useful animals like cows, horses etc. the invitation of language and the art of writing and the art of cooking own their existence in the necessity of man. But necessity may be constructive as well as destructive. Constructive necessity leads to invention of things that makes life beautiful and worth living while destructive necessity is born of ill-will, enmity and an overpowering desire to defeat and subdue others. This has led man to invent all sport of weapons and other means of destruction. The creation of nuclear weapons is the latest curse of this tendency. Necessity is the mother of  invention but it must be conditioned by a moral binding of inventing only those things that help man towards the achievement of perfect happiness on earth.
